{"id":113,"date":"2007-02-18T10:00:01","date_gmt":"2007-02-18T08:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.henriska.com\/blog\/?p=113"},"modified":"2007-02-18T10:00:10","modified_gmt":"2007-02-18T08:00:10","slug":"ibm-vs-microsoft-on-open-standards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.henriska.com\/blog\/2007\/02\/ibm-vs-microsoft-on-open-standards\/","title":{"rendered":"IBM vs Microsoft on Open Standards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wanted to comment on the spat that is going on between IBM and Microsoft and Open Standards.&nbsp; Actually it is not really a spat since all IBM is saying, support a ratified open standard like ODF rather than getting another quasi standard like openXML from Microsoft.&nbsp; Now Microsoft is blaming IBM for taking sides.&nbsp; <a href=\"http:\/\/opendotdotdot.blogspot.com\/index.html\">Glyn Moody<\/a> summed it up well in his post  titled <a href=\"http:\/\/opendotdotdot.blogspot.com\/2007\/02\/microsofts-freudian-slips.html\">&#8220;Microsoft&#8217;s Fruedian Slips&#8221;<\/a>.&nbsp; I quote<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>What Microsoft glides over, of course, is that the choice is within the standard.  There are now a number of <a set=\"yes\" href=\"http:\/\/opendocumentfellowship.org\/applications\">programs<\/a> supporting ODF, with more coming through. That&#8217;s choice.
