{"id":7364,"date":"2011-08-25T20:03:51","date_gmt":"2011-08-25T18:03:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.henriska.com\/blog\/?p=7364"},"modified":"2011-08-25T20:03:51","modified_gmt":"2011-08-25T18:03:51","slug":"if-you-wouldnt-do-your-job-for-free-then-quit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.henriska.com\/blog\/2011\/08\/if-you-wouldnt-do-your-job-for-free-then-quit\/","title":{"rendered":"If You Wouldn&#8217;t Do Your Job For Free, Then Quit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>Just read a <a href=\"http:\/\/lifehacker.com\/5834025\/if-you-wouldnt-do-your-job-for-free-then-quit\">Lifehacker<\/a> post that got me thinking. &nbsp;How many of us are in a dead end job, full of frustration and we hate it.&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: #5e5e5e; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; background-color: #ffffff;\">David Fuhriman<\/span><span>&nbsp;quotes something his brother-in-law received with his graduation:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An hour of sleep before midnight is worth two, and an hour of work before noon is worth two.<\/li>\n<li>Always pick your kids up from school. That&#8217;s when they want to talk.<\/li>\n<li>Never let your skill exceed your virtue.<\/li>\n<li>Never take less than two weeks off when you have a child or for your honeymoon. Don&#8217;t let them talk you down.<\/li>\n<li>When you mess up, admit it frankly and quickly, and move on.<\/li>\n<li>Always do your very best in your job, but if you don&#8217;t like what you&#8217;re doing enough that you would do it for free, quit. (This seems extreme, but at the same time mentally liberating.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Particularly the last one is eye opening.
