{"id":7976,"date":"2016-03-13T11:06:20","date_gmt":"2016-03-13T09:06:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.henriska.com\/blog\/?p=7976"},"modified":"2016-03-13T11:12:08","modified_gmt":"2016-03-13T09:12:08","slug":"hike-wolvekloof-franschhoek-12-maart-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.henriska.com\/blog\/2016\/03\/hike-wolvekloof-franschhoek-12-maart-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Hike &#8211; Wolvekloof, Franschhoek &#8211; 12 March 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Joined the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcsapw.co.za\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mountain Club of South Africa (Paarl\/Wellington)<\/a> on a hike to Wolvekloof, just outside <a href=\"http:\/\/www.franschhoek.co.za\/\" target=\"_blank\">Franchhoek<\/a>. What a hike, highly recommended for anybody but be aware, if you not fit and do not like boulder hopping then stay away. \u00c2\u00a0No need for lots of water since there is water all along the hike, but make sure you pack in something to swim in since the swimming pools are just great, cold but great.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/u\/0\/embed?mid=zkKKmPozxAzI.kDlwHmZIFDow\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Also be aware that you will need to have a 4&#215;4 to get to the starting point of the hike. \u00c2\u00a0We were 12 people with some cars and 2 4&#215;4&#8217;s. \u00c2\u00a0The drive to the parking area where we left the cars was not that great but if you take it slow then it will be ok. \u00c2\u00a0We left the cars at the parking area and all got into the 2 4&#215;4&#8217;s for a 6km ride up the \u00c2\u00a0mountain on a small narrow track.<\/p>\n<p>We drove past Berg River Dam with the 4&#215;4&#8217;s which hardly had any water in it, it is very dry in this part of the world at the moment.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-7976 reached the waterfall in time for lunch and well deserved swim. \u00c2\u00a0Seeing the waterfall and just standing and feeling the water fall like little stones on your head made all the effort to get \u00c2\u00a0The hike from where we left the 4&#215;4&#8217;s and back to it is roughly 5km but it will take you 7 to 8 hours to
