IBM has released its result for 2008 and you can read all about it here. For the first time IBM has passed the magical mark of $100 billion in revenue. Other than that it was a very good year for IBM taking into account the financial situation in the world.
Now as an IBMer, I am looking with baited breath in what our bonuses will look like when March comes around.

Over the past couple of days I was searching for a new theme for this site. Looked at a lot of them but none is really what I have in mind. My main requirements are as follows:
- Must be fluid width — ie not fixed width.
- 2 column with a sidebar on the right
- Also have a footer sidebar — does one call it a sidebar or footbar
- Must be widget ready.
If you have any ideas or suggestions then please let me know.

Via Gizmodo, here is the truth about Men and Woman. And I so agree with this.

I particularly like this one.

I am looking for a solution to Sync Lotus Notes 8.5 on Ubuntu with Google Calendar. It only needs to be an one way sync from Notes to Google Calendar.
I have searched the Interwebs but have not found a suitable solution. Have found some stuff for Windows but not for Ubuntu or even Linux in general.
Advice will be much appreciated.

This is just for my reference since it happened a couple of times when I open Add/Remove Programs and find the listing to be blank. If you encounter this then here is the solution to fix it.
Do the following:
sudo apt-get remove gnome-app-install
sudo apt-get install gnome-app-install apturl ubufox ubuntu-desktop
You should now have a fully operational Add/Remove

I am running Ubuntu Hardy (8.04) together with Eclipse 3.3.1 and PDT 1.0.3 and wanted to upgrade to the latest Eclipse and PDT — that is Eclipse 3.4 and PDT 2.0. The easiest way I have found after lots of struggling is as follows:
That is it. You should now have the latest Eclipse and PDT.

CES 2009 is on the go at the moment and this phone

was announced. It is not by the usual people but believe it or not, Palm. Read more about it here.
Is this going to be the iPhone killer?
And while we on CES. I want one of these:

It is a wall mounted Blu-ray player. And to go with it the new range of Samsung HDTV’s.

As I am still on holiday, my son and I decided to explore some of the Western Cape’s beauty. It was an overcast day and a perfect day for a road trip. We decided to explore the area up to Hermanus. We drove through the Strand and Gordonsbay.
After Gordonsbay, it was onto Rooiels, PringleBay, Bettysbay and Kleinmond. At Kleimond we stopped and grabbed some cooldrinks and strolled through the town. Then it was onto Hermanus, past
Arrabella Golf Estate and Onrus onto Hermanus.
We again stopped in Hermanus and strolled through the town. It was packed and we battled to get parking. This must be one of the restaurants that is the closest I have ever seen to the water edge.
For all you Harley lovers,
This was one of about 15 Harleys and all of them exactly the same.
On the way back from Hermanus we took the N2 and turned off at Grabou. Just before Velliersdorp we took the Franschoek turnoff and got this view of Franschoek.
Now tell me that we do not have some of the most beautyful countryside here in the Cape. This view is just amazing.

Cape Town[2] Comments
Today was one of those windy Cape Town days. Which meant the Kite Flyers and Surfers really enjoyed themselves. There must have been 100′s of them om Blouberg beach.
